I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason, and that the best things in life most often happen when you least expect them.
My husband and I met on Match.com, and were it not for the fact that I posted a profile on there just for fun, we would never have met otherwise. I almost cancelled our first date because I didn’t have the energy to meet yet another random guy I was sure I’d have the most boring time with. But I forgot to cancel until he was already on the way. I slouched in my chair at dinner, and tried my best to hide the fact that I was completely underwhelmed, pretended to listen and answered his questions absentmindedly while I focused on the menu… and then… about halfway through dinner I actually started listening. And I realized that THIS was the guy I should be trying to impress.
I became a wedding photographer through a similarly unexpected path, and for 18 years I have had the honor of documenting the first day in a couple’s new life together. Now, as I enter the next phase of my life with 2 small children, I truly understand how monumental a wedding day – and that commitment of “for better or for worse” really is. I silently renew my own vows of commitment at each wedding I photograph. I want my couples to look at their wedding day photos and see the love, the excitement, the boundless possibilities for the future that were there that day – and I want those photos to help them get through the tough times that every married couple will inevitably face.
I am a photojournalist. I am a visual storyteller.
I document not just the people who attend an event but more than that – I document emotions – preserving real moments that come and go in an instant so they can be relived again and again.
You made it to my website and read all about me… so there must be a reason, right? Send me a note – I want to document YOUR story.
