Your wedding day will fly by! I asked six of my couples to tell me what they will remember most from their wedding day.
What will you remember most about your wedding day?
Carly: Our toasts. Most of all, Michael’s daughter Kaya’s toast. Kaya is a confident, vibrant 11 year old and was very adamant about wanting to give a speech at the reception to “get everyone hyped.” Kaya work on the speech secretly for weeks. She ultimately brought the house down and earned a standing ovation for her amazing, witty, hilarious toast that noted “I was so happy when my dad found Carly because I always knew he needed a strong woman in his life, and an 11 year old can only do so much.” When the toasts started we both sat back, laughed hysterically and were consumed with joy about the new family we were creating together.
Michael: I will remember tearing up as soon as the music started. Seeing our friends, flower girls, and my son and daughter start coming down the aisle and then seeing Carly’s brothers walking her out to me. And the Panda, I shall always remember the Panda. (A friend surprised us near the end of the reception by donning a full on panda costume and doing an unexpected and elaborate dance to LMFAO’s “Sexy and I know it”.)
What will you remember most about your wedding day?
The fact that my groom did not want me to walk down the aisle by myself. My father recently had a stroke and was not well enough to make the trip to attend our wedding, so neither of my parents were there. I didn’t want to have anyone else walk me down, although there were plenty of people who would have jumped at the opportunity to do so. My groom (Michael) gave me the strength to realize that I have been on my own since I was 18 yrs old and I am a strong woman who can walk myself down the aisle, just as I have come to be where I am in life. So down the aisle alone I walked when he stepped out of line to meet me halfway. He said he did this so I knew he would always be there with me when I felt alone. I remember hearing our guests gasp and then sounds of sobs when they realized what he was doing.

Funny! We actually share the same favorite moment…when we first saw each other as we walked down the aisle. Janeen is a jeans and sneakers girl and stressed that she was wearing pants which of course was what I expected. But when I finally saw her she was in a full length gown!! My jaws dropped and tears fell. She was so lovely and then she lifted her dress a tad and revealed matching white Timberland boots. That’s my baby.
What will you remember most about your wedding day?
Us being surrounded by friends and family as we joined our lives together.
What will you remember most about your wedding day?
I will remember laughing my face off at the alter with Vic; drinking glass after glass of champagne with my sisters and the other strong and beautiful women in my life; dancing with my father; watching my mother exude radiance, joy and grace as she twirled in her fabulous dress; crying and laughing at each of the amazing and poignant speeches our dearest loved ones made; seeing smiling faces of friends and family; and feeling utterly humbled by how much love we received throughout the day.
What will you remember most about your wedding day?
It’s hard to say.. it literally flew by!! People kept telling me that was going to happen and I can honestly say, it did. But, my most favorite part was our first look. The best butterflies I’ve ever had, followed by a moment with my future husband was the most memorable moment in time. I will never forget it.
